Children were introduced this week to the triangle shape as well as the colors red and green.  We celebrated with a small parade also honoring Mexico Independence which fell on the same day.

The children enjoyed the day outdoors at the Arizona State Fair.  We visited the animals, the petting zoo and were able to get on rides!!

Halloween Party

This week the children were introduced to the letter H for Halloween and the letter X for X-Ray.  They also learned the colors orange and black for Halloween.  They finished their week with a Halloween Party.  Thanks to parents donations, children had cupcakes, chips and juice boxes for snack.  They also went on a small parade to Sunland school where they sang a Halloween song to the school age children.  The children finished their activities by collecting candy around the playground.

Thanksgiving Lunch

This week the children incorporated the letter T for Thanksgiving into their vocabulary.  They  reviewed the colors red, orange, brown and yellow for fall colors.  We celebrated the week with a Thanksgiving Lunch.  The children were able to choose to be either Pilgrims or Indians.  Table manners were also reviewed and placemats were made for their lunch.

The children celebrated the holidays with a visit from Santa.  Before Santa came to their school, the children made stockings for goodies, learned holiday songs and made decorations for their school.  The children learned the letter S for Santa and the letter G for gingerbread house.  The children each made their own gingerbread house to take home.  To finish the week they made a small gift for their mom. .
